Difference Between Decimal BASIC 6.6.3.4 and 7.8.2? (2018-01-08 12:59 by toml12953 #80565)

On one site I see Decimal BASIC for Windows version 6.6.3.4 and on another I see version 7.8.2. Both were modified in January, 2018. What is the difference between these two programs? Does one have more capability than the other? They look similar when started.

These are slightly diffrerent.
For example,
Ver. 6.6 can manipulate UTF-8 characters,
Ver. 7.8 can manipulate Windows Metafile,
Ver. 7.8 can manipulate Win32 OLE,
Ver. 6.6 is open source,
and so on.

Major difference is that
Ver. 7 only works on Windows,
but Ver. 6.6 works on Linux and Intel Mac too.
