In the piano roll view, pressing the command key will toggle pencil mode and rectangle-select mode. (This may conflict with other implementation in the piano roll or strip chart, so this is still experimental.)

In the piano chart, option-dragging of the left-side ruler will cause expanding the vertical scale. Option-double-clicking will restore the full range.
