bsfilterのメモリ使用量 (2006-06-30 16:41 by Anonymous #23416)

Windows環境で、bsfilter release 1.0.14 revision 1.79 の
exeファイルを使用しています。

通常のメモリ使用量は、6.5MBくらいで推移していますが、
token databaseの縮小以後は、26.5MBで推移しています。

この増えたメモリ使用量は、token databaseのサイズによって
違うと思うのですが、縮小後に開放はされないのでしょうか？

メモリ使用量は、タスクマネージャのタスクに表示されている値です。

メモリ解放の流れとしては
1. bsfilter script側で不要なオブジェクトの参照を止める。(関数から抜ける等によって)
2. ruby処理系が参照されていないオブジェクトに対してメモリ解放関数を呼ぶ
3. メモリが解放され、カーネルにメモリが返る
だと思います。

1.については確認しますが、ちょっと見た範囲では問題なさそうです。

2.については調べてみます。rubyがGCしたあとfreeかなにかを呼ぶのか、将来の使用のために呼ばないのか?

3.について、Windowsではどうなのでしょう?
unix系のfreeですと、普通の場合はカーネルにメモリが返りません。(返るとニュースになります)

Windowsでソフトを使用していると、
処理ごとに物理メモリの使用量が増減しているので、
bsfilterはどうなのかと・・・質問しました。

メモリ管理は、言語であるrubyがしているので、
rubyしだいなのですね。

物理メモリの使用量が少ないに越した事はないですが、
26.5MBならまだ支障はないので、
運用に問題ないと思います。
