This major new version features a largely rewritten audio engine, which can work with multiple audio systems, like aRts and GStreamer. It also adds a new, comfortable file browser, support for tag-editing, and an on screen display. Another new feature is the slick 3D visualization module which uses OpenGL. Invoking amaroK with command line arguments has been made very fast by use of an application loader concept. There have been numerous performance improvements, bugfixes, and GUI updates.
