Project Description

Codestriker is a Web application that supports online code reviews. Traditional document reviews are supported, as well as reviewing diffs generated by an SCM (Source Code Management) system and plain unidiff patches. There are integration points with CVS, Subversion, Clearcase, Perforce, Visual SourceSafe, and Bugzilla. There is a plug-in architecture for supporting other SCMs and issue tracking systems. It minimizes paper work, ensures that issues, comments, and decisions are recorded in a database, and provides a comfortable workspace for actually performing code inspections. An optional highly-configurable metrics subsystem allows you to record code inspection metrics as a part of your process.

1.8.0

This major release introduces the ability to
record configurable software metrics against your
code reviews. Codestriker now supports Oracle and
SQL-Server via ODBC. Perforce depot integration
was also introduced. Topic properties can now been
modified after a topic has been created. Wildcard
searching is now supported on the search screen
for author, reviewer, and cc fields. An audit
trail for a topic is now recorded, so that it is
possible to see when a topic was created, who has
modified it, and when that occurred. Codestriker
now also supports deployments with IIS.

1.7.8

This release makes sure when displaying comments and
the topic description that URLs are automagically linked,
as well as text like "Bug 23" to the associated bug page,
if a bugtracking system has been configured. The view
comments screen has been reworked to handle topics
with very long lines so the "filename:linenumber",
"Parallel" and "Add Comment" links are not lost. "Check
All"/"Clear All" links have been added to the view
comments page. A bug where selecting multiple states in
the search screen reported an input error has been fixed,
along with a number of other minor bugs.

1.7.7

The table of contents links on the view topic page didn't include the brmode parameter, so clicking on a filename link reloaded the whole topic page, which was inconvenient. This reloading behaviour has also been fixed when coming from the topic list or create topic page.

1.7.6

The topic view page was modified for non-diff
topics and the list comments page was modified
to allow filtering by user or comment state and
to show the context text associated with each
comment. An $allow_comment_email option that
controls if an email is sent for each comment
was added, and the notion of soft and hard topic
text length limits was introduced. Information
from diffs can be used with the
--show-c-function. A new script for automating
the submission of code review topics was added
along with a new view topic option for newline
wrapping.

1.7.4

This release adds a major documentation rewrite, a proper installation
guide for *nix and Windows (plus users' and hackers' guides in docbook
format, to produce HTML and PDF documentation), online help for each
screen, and fixes for some minor issues with parsing Subversion diffs.
It removes appropriate features from screens if bug tracking or
project features are disabled. The Bugzilla database name can now be
customized. Delta rows are now deleted when a topic is deleted.
