This release is the first release marked as
"stable". Further changes to the 4.4.x series will
only include bugfixes, and no new features. This
release fixes many bugs present in the beta
versions. In contrast to the 4.2.x series,
Contenido now features advanced in-site editing,
the SPAW WYSIWYG editor, a more user-friendly
backend and much more.
This release includes support for multiple
languages and currently has translations for
English and German. Mozilla insite editing was
added. Numerous bugfixes were made.
This release has a new backend (based on templates), pre-configuration of templates, on-site editing (allows editing directly on the Web site), a new article editor, a redesigned WYSIWYG editor, new media management, rewritten rights management, customizable text encoding, a new sample frontend, client management via the backend, and many bugfixes.
