The Entitlement Based Scheduler (EBS) is a
modification of the Linux O(1) CPU scheduler that
introduces entitlement based scheduling for
SCHED_NORMAL tasks in Linux 2.6 kernels. The
design features of the O(1) scheduler that address
the issues of scalability and efficiency are
retained. Entitlement based sharing means that
each task has its own variable entitlement to CPU
resources, and the scheduler allocates more CPU
time to tasks with greater entitlement. The
priority of each task is continually adjusted to
achieve this aim.
