Emerde

The --maketgz and --maketgzonly options were
added. These tell emerge to build Slackware's tgz
packages for all ebuilds processed. pkg2por was
fixed so that it now clears old entries in the
portage database. Upgrading is highly recommended
to fix this pkg2por bug.

This release adds support for non-"exact version" packages. Update-emerde has been created, which checks and updates emerde to the latest version. initd-cfg allows you to easily select what init.d programs run during Emerde's init. A pfile action has been added: you can use "emerde pfile /path/to/mypfile", where mypfile is a file where you put all the packages you want to emerde. CADB is now updated after an emerde sync. An uemerde action checks and updates emerde to the latest version. When emerde can't find the .tgz file for a dependency of a .tgz file, it will emerde the dependency.

This release can now resume an interrupted or aborted
compilation without rebuilding the pkg and restarting the
compilation. The chroot installation has been
improved. A recursion bug for pkg2por during the
installation has been fixed. A missing database entry that
caused it to build and install baselayout has been
replaced.

Portage has been updated to 2.0.49-r21. Now por2pkg removes old entries in the Slackware db and uses Archtype-Release notation (e.g. -i386-1). Incorrect file name input in pkg2por has been fixed. Manuals have been added for por2pkg, pkg2por, pordbcheck, and buildworld.

This release adds a pordbcheck utility which checks whether the programs listed in the portage's db are really installed. A buildworld utility which rebuilds or updates the "world" file (/var/cache/edb/world) has been added. An --update option to update a previous version of Emerde has been added. Manuals installation and small installation bugs have been fixed.
