Project Description

The Enhanced TightVNC Viewer, SSVNC, adds encryption security to VNC connections. The package provides a GUI for Windows, MacOS X, and Unix that automatically starts up an STUNNEL SSL tunnel for SSL or ssh/plink for SSH connections to any VNC server and then launches the VNC Viewer to use the encrypted tunnel. On Unix and MacOS X, a VNC viewer with many new features is provided. The short name for this project is "ssvnc", for SSL/SSH VNC viewer.

1.0.11

Many new features and fixes to the Unix TightVNC Viewer appear in this release. RealVNC ZRLE compression support has been added, along with a 16bpp mode for 32bpp displays and very low 64- and 8-color modes for 8bpp. The -ycrop option is for use with x11vnc's client side caching to hide the pixel cache region from view. It is applied automatically when use of the caching is detected. The popup menu has been expanded to allow changing many settings (color formats, encodings, cursor modes, and view-only) on the fly without having to restart the viewer. Fullscreen toggling now works on KDE.
