Project Description

The Flight Gear Flight Simulator project is a free, open-source, multi-platform, cooperative flight sim development project. Source code for the entire project is available and licensed under the GPL. The Flight Gear project is working to create a sophisticated flight simulator framework for the development and pursuit of interesting flight simulator ideas. We are developing a good basic sim that can be expanded and improved upon by anyone interested in contributing.

A fix for a bug with the external view and the aircraft getting caught in an upward vicious spiral due to incorrect altitude compensation, MacOS fixes, much code reorganization, new build requirements of plib-1.1.x and SimGear-0.0.x, LaRCsim/c172 is now the default aircraft model, flaps support in the control model, lots of updates and tweaks for the LaRCsim/c172 model, use of a more standard texture/blend mode combination for sun/moon halos to avoid render path that's not supported by all cards/drivers, reported speed on the HUD is now V_calibrated_kts, an instrument panel rewrite, many JSBsim updates, a screen snapshot facility (F3), a load/save state function, support for various I/O protocols and channels so that flightgear can communicate with itself and other programs, Oliver's multiplayer network code now moved to its own subdirectory (NetworkOLK), new simulated cloud puffs when passing through the cloud layer, fixes for some memory leaks occuring between ssg and flightgear, and an update to the weather database code.
