Project Description

FreeMED is a Web-based medical records (EMR) and patient management system with a printing system, patient scheduling, an HL7 interface, a billing system, XML-RPC Web services, and many other features. It has an extensible modular architecture, allowing it to be customized based on individual practices without having to rewrite core components of the system. It is HIPAA compliant.

PEAR and phpwebtools were bundled. A French
translation was added. The authentication system
was made pluggable. New features include a Quest
Diagnostics HL7 interface for importing lab data,
FQHC sliding scale support, message "mailboxes",
secure data warehousing, labs/lab results modules,
HL7 R01 handling. Verification of authorizations
was fixed. An insurance company without REMITT was
fixed. AJAX widget and annotation/tooltip display
fixes were done. Other minor bugfixes were made.
