Project Description

Gmerlin is a set of multimedia libraries which
comes with several applications. Applications
include a full featured media player with Gtk-2
GUI, an audio/video transcoder, a webcam
application, and an ALSA mixer. The libraries
provide many low-level functions like handling of
uncompressed A/V streams or decoding a wide range
of multimedia formats. All libraries were written
with good reusability in mind, so you can easily
write your own applications based on gmerlin
libraries.

0.3.2

This release brings Audio CD support and makes the
transcoder a full featured CD ripper which encodes
WAV, AAC, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and FLAC. On the
decoding side, Vivo, Musepack, BMP-, and TIFF
images are now supported. Furthermore, files from
anonymous FTP servers may now be played without
downloading them first. The installation became
much simpler by using two new tarballs, one with
dependencies and one with all gmerlin packages.

0.3.1

Lots of crashes, hangs, and compilation errors were fixed. A new transcoding application that converts all supported input files into Quicktime, AVI, WAV, or single images was added. Lots of new formats and codecs were added. AAC streams over HTTP are now supported. Initial LCDproc support was implemented along with high quality audio resampling, a volume control for the player, and recursive importing of directory trees into the media tree.

0.1.6pre3

This release has fewer Gdk errors at startup, improved color space conversions, input and output plugins for libquicktime, change string handling (nobody should have an empty playlist anymore), an experimental DVD plugin (based on libdvdread), and support for RGB32 displays (which weren't supported because of a stupid bug).
