Many bugs were fixed. Missing icons were fixed. Loading or reloading plugins must unload old plugins. Import/export fixes were made (for date ranges, underscore, latitude/longitude). Narrative web crash fixes were made. Many updates were made. HTML notes were added. CSS was updated. Geoview fixes and updates were done. A Unicode error in soundex was fixed. A crash on data entry was fixed. The translations were updated for the bg, ca, de, es, fr, he, hr, it, nb, nl, sk, and sv locales.

This release contains translation updates, crash fixes, bugfixes, and minor updates. Fixes and updates were made to notes, the date handler, the GEDCOM parser, GEDCOM export, PlaceView, thumbnails, Unicode/text truncation, Gramplets, GTK+ 2.18/Ubuntu 9.10, XML export/import data loss, and GeneWeb GEDCOM import. There were also CSS updates, several MacPorts-specific fixes, and several Windows-specific fixes.

An upgrade bug in version 3.1.0 was fixed. New features include better date control (to indicate the start of a new year), more languages, the ability to use decorations such as underline and bold in the notes. Smaller screens can be used to make GRAMPS fit on netbooks. New reports, tools, and gramplets were added. Many bugfixes and improvements were made.
