The major difference between this release and all its ancestors is
that it does not need the PHP module DBX (responsible for database
abstraction) anymore. 1.3b has also been tested in detail with Apache
1.3.24/PHP 4.1.2/MySQL 3.23.49 under GNU/Debian Linux (Woody). This
beta release contains a large number of bugfixes concerning application
security for use in the World Wide Web.
It is now possible to refresh a link, its parent,
a whole branch, or an entire Web project. There is
still a lot of work to do to optimize, debug, and
finalize it, but it should work. You can now
double-click to open an existing project. A bug in
relative paths management was corrected. Work has
started on using the status bar instead of popups
to display actions states. The "malformed link"
status has returned. The main menu was
reorganized. A "Delete project" item was added in
the "Project" menu. The "Page information" dialog
was enhanced to be smarter and more like Mozilla.
This version sees the whole TCP layer rewritten. There are still
memory leaks for timed out connections, but no segfaults
should be raised any more. There is a correction of a problem
in the uc_url_get_absolute() function. Task #3114 (better
handling of domains with timeout) is now ok. There are
corrections for a lot of memory leaks that occurred when
opening a project, and some more documentation was
included.
This version eliminates an occasional segmentation fault while checking a URL, implements gnet_uri_* to assist in URL parsing, corrects an issue with some relative HREFs, backports the ability to manage web pages that only contain a META refresh tag that redirects to a new location, and corrects a memory leak in a debug function.
Several syntax bugs that were resulting in a segfault have been fixed. This release uses gnet_uri_* to assist with URL parsing. Bug #7070 (a problem with some relative HREF values has been fixed). Several memory leaks have been fixed in debug, proxy management, and tooltips functions. The project management feature is still buggy and less than usable, but the Web site check should be better.
