Project Description

K3DSurf is a program for visualizing and manipulating multidimensional surfaces by using Mathematical equations. It's also a "modeler" for POV-Ray in the area of parametric surfaces. It features 3D, 4D, 5D, and 6D HyperObjects visualization, full support for all functions (like the C language), support for mouse events in the drawing area, animation and morph effects, Povscript and mesh file generation, and support for VRML2 and OBJ files. More than 100 examples are provided.

0.5.4

Two new sections were added for 3D mathematical
equation modeling: deformers and builders.
Deformers include two tools ("Scale" and "Twist")
which can be used, along with an existing
mathematical model, to apply certain deformations.
The complexity of the generated equations depends
heavily on the number of steps. Builders include
three tools ("Revolve", "Extrude" and "Loft")
which can be used to build 3D shapes from one or
more 2D/3D curves. The possibility to show the
shape's acute part and its polygons' normals was
added. The code was improved to remove floating
polygons.
