Project Description

LBreakout is a breakout game with nice effects, graphics, and sounds. It's got a menu to configure a lot of things and a high score chart. It can be played either by mouse or keyboard. New levels can also be created, and most other aspects of the game can be customized.

2.0-pre2

This release states a very important break condition to prevent a lot of reflection bugs. It has some minor fixes: player scores are modified correctly in the end, and a bonus floor deadlock has been fixed. There are also some minor enhancements, like exiting the game with 'q' and faster paddle movement by key.

2.0-pre1

Some very important checkups and break conditions which are supposed to fix most of the reflection bugs, correctly drawing balls when moving up/left, allowing the use of 'f' to switch to fullscreen everywhere, and a new advanced option to draw balls above/below the bonus level.

2.0beta

The brick reflection stuff has been modified to smash the through-walls-like-a-ghost bug. There are also some graphical improvements: bonus shadows don't overlap, smooth paddle resize, and a game play improvement (you may restart with no life left if you got enough score to buy a continue).

2.0alpha-2

The bit depth is no longer hardcoded to 16 bit and the color keys were adjusted. This is only important for people using a bit depth greater than 16 bit.

2.0alpha

This release comes with much improved ball & paddle physics, much better input handling, improved graphics (resolution switched to 640x480), new levels, new boni, multiplayer action (alternating), a new manual, and an integrated full-featured level editor. It does not overwrite the old LBreakout data, as it is incompatible with it. Instead, it's installed as LBreakout2 (binary is lbreakout2) with a new data directory and resource structure.
