Project Description

lftp is a sophisticated command line based file transfer program. Supported protocols include FTP, HTTP, SFTP, and FISH. It has a multithreaded design allowing you to issue and execute multiple commands simultaneously or in the background. It also features mirroring capabilities and will reconnect and continue transfers in the event of a disconnection. Also, if you quit the program while transfers are still in progress, it will switch to nohup mode and finish the transfers in the background. Additional protocols supported: FTP over HTTP proxy, HTTPS and FTP over SSL, BitTorrent protocol. IPv6 is fully supported. There are lots of tunable parameters, including rate limitation, number of connections limitation and more.

The sftp:use-full-path setting was added. sftp
FSETSTAT is not used when it is not needed. The
sftp:charset and fish:charset settings were fixed.
URL escapes are not decoded in get/put when no URL
schema is used. Counting of file removal errors in
mirror was fixed. A 2-byte buffer overflow when
showing transfer percents was fixed. A problem
with incorrect port/host name in HTTP requests was
fixed. Some core dumps were fixed. Compilation on
some systems was fixed.

A major code cleanup was done. The "repeat --weak"
option was added. The new ftp:use-stat-for-list
setting allows faster directory listing. The new
"eval" command with the -f option allows complex
aliases. Encoded parts of FTP URLs are now sent
untranslated to the FTP server. The mirror options
--on-change, --depth-first, --no-empty-dirs,
--ascii, and --only-existing were added. The
settings xfer:log and ssl:check-hostname were
added. The cls exit code was fixed.

ftps was fixed not to access data socket before a
150 reply. sftp was fixed to send properly sized
packets on upload. Infinite retrying on upload was
fixed. Compilation without iconv was fixed.
Buffering in ASCII mode transfers was fixed.

Cross-compilation without iconv is now allowed.
The French translation was updated. Mirror was
fixed for MDTM-less FTP servers. The readline
prompt was fixed for \[\] (visible on Win32).
Compilation with the Sun native compiler was
fixed.
