A new User Access Restriction System (select which parts of the site unregistered, regsitered and special users can access/view), Administrator updates for look and feel (work on this is continuing through the BETA), and improved ordering of news/articles/faqs/etc. were all done. Security holes were fixed, CSS was improved for easier theme design, and a custom component installer was added. Support for other character sets in the in-built editor, database prefix support, and a built-in database backup and admin tool were also added.
A bug in the table contact_details where contact details may not have been displayed after changing them has been fixed. A new Custom Page Module installer has been added. configuration.php now supports date and time locale via setlocale. Many files have been updated to reflect the new CSS implementation. A bug in gallery/pdf.php with incorrect icons displayed for document types has been fixed. Author support has been added to news stories. A truncated titles bug in all edit options in admin, a bug in administrator/administrator.php when sending email, and support for HTML entities in the admin section have been fixed. A new default has been added.
This version includes changes to administrator/classes/articles.php and news.php so that on save it returns to the list. All DOS carriage returns were removed from the .php files. File/directory permissions were fixed, as was a bug in the admin statistics where the bar would go off the edge of the screen. classes/html/pastarticles.php was modified to report correctly on whether it was displaying news or articles, a check from index.php for register_globals was removed as it was causing problems, newsfeeds are now stored in the newsfeeds directory, and a bug in mainmenu.php was fixed.
This version includes a new function to select news published for FrontPage only from the admin section, custom modules support, a custom site statistics module, and upgrade307.sql. The session time out for users and administrators was increased to 30 minutes, the user administration support was enhanced for large numbers of registered users, and there is a new Web installer.
Fixes were made to pathway.php. Support for PHP
4.2.2 was improved. Konqueror now works with the
Admin navigation bar when it is set to emulate IE5
on W2K. The Forum link from the Admin menu was
commented out. The search feature was modified so
that pathway is updated when the user clicks on a
search item. If no image is selected in a news
item, Mambo will now display "no image selected"
instead of an img error.
