Project Description

The Mobile Device Information project is a Java Swing application that provides desktop interface access to the WURFL (Wireless Universal Resource FiLe). The WURFL contains information about the capabilities of a huge number of wireless devices. The Mobile Device Information project allows users to search for individual devices, or devices that meet certain criteria, e.g. "Which Nokia phones are MIDP-2.0 enabled and support at least 65536 colours?"

1.2.2

This release finally resolves problems with the id
pseudo-capability. Version 1.2 caused make/model
data to be hidden; 1.2.1 fixed this, but added a
bug which used the fallback instead of the current
"id".

1.2.1

A bug was introduced in 1.2 with the addition of
the "id" pseudo-capability. It caused device
information to be overwritten (in memory) when
loading patch files and gave the impression that
the make and model had vanished. This has been
fixed in 1.2.1.

Performance improvements were made for internal
device searching. The product ID was added to the
Device tab. A new option to add all search results
to the Comparison table was added. Additions were
made to the Comparison tab to allow all devices to
be removed, to export to CSV, and to improve image
identification.

1.0

A comparison tab allows you to compare devices side by side. You can save your selections (devices and capabilities). WURFL capabilities are renamed for display in the comparison. Searches can be saved with descriptive names. You can choose which patch files are loaded, change the patch file selection on-the-fly, and export (consolidate) all loaded patch files into a single patch file. The documentation has been updated to reflect the changes and include descriptions of the new features.
