Project Description

Minitube is a YouTube application for Mac, Linux, and Windows. With it, you can watch YouTube videos in a new way: you type a keyword, and Minitube gives you an endless video stream. Minitube does not require the Flash Player. It is not about cloning the original YouTube Web interface, but strives to create a new TV-like experience.

This release can sort videos by relevance, date, and popularity. Double-clicking on video toggles full screen and right-clicking pops up a context menu. You can now remove videos using the Backspace key, since Mac laptops lack a Delete key. There is a keyboard shortcut to give focus to the search box. Thumbnails are now loaded asynchronously. Minitube is now ready to be translated. Italian, Russian, and Portuguese translations are available.
