Project Description

mu is a collection of utilities for maildirs, in particular for indexing and searching them. mu fills a database with information about your emails, which can then be queried using an easy query language. It can work stand-alone or be integrated with a mail client. It also provides an emacs-based email client ("mu4e") and bindings for Guile/Scheme.

This release adds further indexing speedups (especially on ext3-file systems). Also, one can now search for relative dates (e.g. '3w' for 'three weeks ago'); search for message properties such as has-attachment/signed/encrypted; and search for message priority. In addition, one can now define bookmarks for search queries. The documentation has been updated, and unit test coverage has been improved. Last but not least, the Web page has been redesigned.

This release brings full content search (using Xapian), and is up to 3 times faster than the previous version. It also adds support for Maildir++, sorting, as well as performance tuning. The documentation was updated an extended. Two new tools were added: mu-mkmdir (mkdir for Maildirs) and mu-msginfo (to get information about message files).
