This release focuses primarily on the KDE client. Coding errors that worked on an older gcc but got caught on the latest version of gcc are fixed. In addition to fixing event lockup anomalies, a disconnect button has been added to the main view of the applet to easily log off from a kiosk account.
This version features major enhancements to both
the clients and server module of the system. One
of the key features is the introduction of the
Kiosk-Mode User Interface. Other features include
membership support, delegation of configuration
access to operators, restricting prepaid and
member access to a particular workgroup, remote
viewing of site status using a Web browser, remote
reporting, detailed reports, and more.
The NodeView release fixed the critical segmentation bug which occurred
when entering configuration. Some parse error bugs in ticket generation
have been fixed. The Windows client now features a new easy-to-use
installer in addition to instant messaging and games support. Lots of
other new features have been introduced.
This significant release is feature packed and has
fixed lots of bugs from previous versions. Some
highlights of the release include comprehensive
documentation, employee statistics and reports, a
status and log viewer, KLP (Kiosk Lock Protocol)
server management, and an intelligent installer
script.
