OSCAR (Open Source Cluster Application Resources) is a snapshot of the best known methods for building, programming, and using clusters. It consists of a fully integrated and easy-to-install software bundle designed for high performance cluster computing.

In this beta version the Ganglia and
Modules/env-switcher packages were added.
Additionally, several existing packages were
updated to newer versions. This release supports
RedHat 7.1 and 7.2, and also has preliminary
support for Mandrake 8.1 and 8.2. Both x86 and
Itanium platforms are supported. Newly added
functions include the add and delete node
utilities and an improved test tool.
