Project Description

PSmisc is a set of small useful utilities that use the proc filesystem, providing the system administrator with help in common tasks. It consists of the four base utilities fuser, killall, pstree, and peekfd. SELinux is optionally supported, as is IPv6 in fuser.

Typos in killall.1 were fixed. fuser -ki now tells
the user that the default is N. pstree -a doesn't
print a space at the end of a line. New sort flags
are supported. pstree.x11 is now just pstree with
a trick. Icons for pstree were added. The message
printed if no processes were found was removed.
Excess blanks in fuser were removed.

SELinux SID selection now uses -d instead of -S to
stop the confusion of signal names. The code no
longer segfaults on long cmdnames. libtool and
friends were updated to work with the new version
of coreutils. Fixes were made for types and for
GCC 3.2. A long was changed to a long long in
pstree.

21.1

This is essentially a bugfix release, catching up on things that were missed with the 21.0 release. However, it also now works on Hurd and has the SELinux patches from the cloak and dagger folks. The author is also looking for new translators for as-yet unsupported languages.

The wrong signal types were cleaned out of
signames.h. More strings have been made
translatable. Language translations were added for
Portuguese, Italian, French, German, and Swedish.
