Project Description

Rapid Photo Downloader is an application for professional and amateur photographers, designed for use on the Linux desktop. It can download photos and videos from multiple cameras, memory cards, and portable storage devices simultaneously. It provides many flexible, user-defined options for subfolder creation, photo and video renaming, and backup.

Icons were added to notification messages. Czech, French, German, Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, and Swedish translations were updated. Devices being unmounted are now handled properly. When the program preferences are changed, image and backup devices are now refreshed only when the preferences dialog window is closed. An issue where the minutes component of image and folder renaming had the same code as months was fixed.

When detection of portable storage devices is enabled, the program will prompt you whether or not to download from each device it automatically detects. You can choose whether the program should remember the choice you make every time it runs. French and Hungarian translations have been updated. A couple of bugs relating to Job Codes have been fixed.

A new feature is Job Codes. A job code is text that is prompted for when a download begins. They are helpful if you want to describe the set of photos in each download. They can be used as part of a subfolder name or the image file name. Czech, French, Hungarian, Slovak, and Swedish translations have been added. A variety of minor bugs have been fixed. This release is stable. It is labeled a "beta" in case there are any bugs that have not been picked up by testing so far.

The Russian translation was updated. A fix was made for a bug where the program would crash when using an automatically configured backup device and gvfs.
