Project Description

SMSLink implements a client/server gateway to the SMS protocol (short messages on the mobile phones). It requires the use of dedicated hardware (a serial GSM module). Both SMS emission and reception are supported, either in text-mode or in PDU-mode. It also includes an SMS to eMail gateway module. The server runs under Linux and FreeBSD and supports interactive mode via telnet. The command-line client already exists for Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, HP-UX, and Win32. A basic Web interface is also provided.

0.48b-4

This release fixes bugs that appeared when using Wavecom WM02 (possibly Falcom FA2 as well) and Siemens M20. The format of the driver file was changed to reflect the fact that not all models use the same date format when listing incoming messages. The incoming SMS parser was improved, as well as debugging for incoming messages. The Web site is now hosted on SourceForge.

0.41b

Version 0.41b brings the long awaited ability to handle incoming SMS messages. The SIM cards of all configured GSM instances are polled for unread messages. Those, when present, are dropped in a text file in an easy to parse format, where any outside app. can pick them up and futher process them. The server now also supports an "uptime" command. See the home page for a more detailed changelog.
