SODA is another Slash site system, including a
storytelling system, advanced user management,
polling system, comments and general forums, style
installation, Hebrew support, and more. It is
written in PHP and uses MySQL for database
manipulation.

This version mainly has changes made as the result of installing 0.8.3 on a variety of systems. There is a new "GMT Offset" setting which makes dates appear in the wanted timezone and not only in the server's. Thus, date handling have been changed in general, including the way dates are displayed and stored. The Path setting has been removed, as it can be calculated by the server automatically. Database settings have been moved to soda.cfg; no file should be edited at install time anymore. install.php was improved to work well in first installations too.
