Sound Converter is a simple sound converter application for the GNOME environment. It reads anything the GStreamer library can read, and writes WAV, FLAC, MP3, AAC, and Ogg Vorbis files.

This release adds AAC encoding support. It uses the gstreamer gio source when available. Create-folders is also activated when using same-as-input-folder. Slashes in tags have been fixed (no more creating unwanted folders). This is just a fast hack: slashes are just replaced by dashes. A crash when gnomevfssink is not present hsa been fixed. A small crash in batch mode has been fixed. The Polish translation has been updated.
This release can run multiple conversions at the same time. The default is one per core; you can adjust this with --jobs. Various crashes have been fixed. Polish, Serbian, and German translations have been updated.
A crash in format_tag() when loading file with
binary tags was fixed. An annoying gvfs error
message at startup when the output folder is not
set was fixed. CustomFileChooser now has
case-insensitive filters. 3gp was added to the
MIME whitelist. A clear list button was added on
the toolbar.
