Project Description

Squash is a C/Ncurses-based music player. It
supports MP3, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis through
libraries. It uses statistics to determine songs
to play automatically. It garners this information
through whether or not a song is skipped. It also
avoids picking the same song twice. Thus, it is
like a radio station that plays the songs you like
without you having to call in requests. Squash
also runs on the empeg car-jukebox as well as the
Linux PC.

The loading sequence was overhauled. Asynchronous
I/O is now used to increase load time. Several
missing free() invocations were found. The speed
performance of critical load code was increased.
The effective load time is now 1/5 of its previous
value. Ogg tag information can now be loaded
directly, without using the database. Similar MP3
support may be added.
