Project Description

system-config-printer configures a CUPS server. It
uses the CUPS API (bound to Python with pycups) to
do this. The communication with the server is
performed using IPP. As a result, it is equally
able to configure a remote CUPS server as a local one.

New udev rules were added for adding, enabling, and disabling USB printers automatically. The gnome-packagekit utility is now used to install packages instead of the D-Bus API. Detection of stopped jobs with CUPS 1.4 was fixed. Tracebacks when adding a new printer and when receiving IPP notifications were fixed. The "location" field for printers added on remote CUPS servers was fixed. Handling of incorrect authentication was fixed. Some UI and troubleshooter fixes have been made.
