Project Description

TightVNC is a VNC distribution with many new features, improvements, and bugfixes over VNC. It is optimized for faster operation on slow network links such as modem connections, provides more configuration options in the server, features automatic SSH tunneling in the Unix vncviewer, and more. The modified servers and viewers are fully compatible with the original VNC software.

This version introduces several new features, mostly in the client part of
TightVNC. New command-line options were added in the Win32 viewer (-encoding
and -noshared). SSH tunneling support in the Unix viewer was improved, and the
-via option was added. Support for the PASSWORD, "Show Controls", and "View
Only" parameters was added in the Java viewer. A Win32 installer is now
available.
