Project Description

Tiny Core Linux is a very small (10 MB) minimal Linux desktop. It is based on the Linux 2.6 kernel, Busybox, Tiny X, Fltk, and Flwm. The core runs entirely in RAM and boots very quickly. The user has complete control over which applications and/or additional hardware to have supported, be it for a desktop, a nettop, an appliance, or server, selectable from the online repository.

Major upgrades were made throughout the distribution. Linux kernel 2.6.29.1 is used. Glibc 2.9 is used. New Xlibs were added. Handling of CDROM and DVD links was improved. Improvements were made to appbrowser. A new window manager is used.

busybox, pcmcia utils, aterm, and appbrowser were updated. Support was added for UUID and LABEL for removable devices. Virtual disk support and udev rules for generic CDROM and DVD devices were added. Bugs were fixed.
