Support for variable-width tracks has been added. Track elevation is
now defined by a single spline. Spa, Suzuka, and other tracks have been
added to show off these features. The Formula 1 car now behaves more
reasonably.
In this version, sounds are now surface-specific so that, for example, tires don't squeal on grass. Surfaces can be bumpy. Cars and tracks are now defined in XML files. Many fixes, tweaks, and improvements have been made.
Some of the low-level classes have been redesigned to allow both the suspension and the wheels to exert forces and torques on the body. The engine can also exert a torque on the body.
Midpoint propagation has been implemented to prevent jittering at low speeds. A bug that caused the car to spin wildly after hard collisions has been fixed.
