Project Description

Veejay is a visual instrument and real-time video
sampler. It allows you to "play" the video like
you would play a piano. While playing, you can
record the resulting video directly to disk (video
sampling). Veejay can be operated live by using
the keyboard (which is completely user definable)
or remotely over TCP/IP. Veejay can be used to
manipulate video in a realtime environment such as
visual performances or for (automated) interactive
video installations.

1.4.3

Easier to compile; several dependencies have been dropped (Unicap, MJPEG Tools, and GtkCairo). Faster capturing (EffecTV's v4lutils) instead of Unicap. A command line switch to swap YUV range [0..255] <-> [16..235] on input video files. Better slow motion: interpolation of the first/last frame according to loop direction. A skin for 1024x768 reloaded has been added.

1.0

Many bugs have been fixed, and all user interface components have been completed. A keystroke/event recorder was added , as well as a MIDI learning feature to easily support MIDI devices. Playback of audio (trickplay) and slow motion video have been improved. The graphical interface was redesigned, and all keyboard events are synchronized between veejay and reloaded.

0.9.19

In this release, audio trickplay has been greatly improved. Veejay speeds up or down the audio like an analog recording (such as a tape). Support was added to render audio when using the recorders in Veejay, and a few critical bugs have been fixed.

0.9.14

You can now save a snapshot of the FX chain to a Bundle and then attach a key combination to this bundle in the VIMS bundle Window. To save your keyboard layout, you can use 'save actionfile'. To load the actionfile, pass it to veejay with the -l commandline option (or use 'load actionfile' in GVeejayReloaded) The configure script was fixed, and new lines have been added to detect and handle x86_64 and amd64 architectures. However, compilation on 64-bit systems may still fail.

0.9.12

In this release, bugs have been fixed in the following components: subtitle renderer, sample deck save/restore, and parameter animation. Also, some quirks in the user interface have been resolved, and some effort was put in making Veejay ready for 64-bit platforms.
