vsftpd is a secure and fast FTP server for UNIX-like systems that is used on many large and critical Internet sites. Its rich feature set includes SSL encryption, IPv6, bandwidth throttling, PAM integration, virtual users, virtual IPs and per-user / per-IP configuration.

Many fixes for buggy FTP clients have been added.
Support for NetBSD and AIX has been improved. The
FTP verbs ALLO, REIN, ACCT, SMNT, FEAT, OPTS, and
STAT have been implemented. Simple hide or deny
access control has been added. Virtual user
support has been enhanced. Pattern matching
support has been enhanced. Passive listen ports
are now reused, which eliminates problems with
bind errors (particulary with restricted passive
port ranges or lots of small downloads).
