XawTV is a simple Xaw-based TV program which uses the bttv driver or video4linux. It also contains various command-line utilities for grabbing images and AVI movies, tuning in TV stations, etc.

Two colorspace conversion functions were added (YUV 4:2:2 packed/planar -> RGB). Minor cleanups were made in the other conversion functions. Some contributed fixes were integrated.
Updates include bugfixes, optimizations to the
video recording code, video stream now being
optional when recording (i.e. you can record
"audio only"-files using streamer or XawTV), and
recording documentation updates.
This release includes a fix for the color space
conversion code, fixes for some minor
initialization bugs in the v4l and v4l2 interface,
an attribute reading for BSD, and alevtd now has a
switch to set the vbi device.
