Project Description

xdesktopwaves is a cellular automata which sets
the background of an X11 desktop as if it were
under water. Window and mouse movements cause
ripples on the desktop like ships on the sea. You
can also simulate rain or a storm stirring up the
water.

1.2

This release is more customizable. There is a new option for increasing the time resolution of event processing. This allows you to have nicer trails from fast-moved objects. Other new options are available for positioning the source of light and for adjusting the intensities of light and sky reflections. Optional support has been added for the window property _NET_WM_WINDOW_OPACITY. Its purpose is to enable alpha blending on systems that are running xcompmgr and a suitable window manager, but this topic still seems to be very experimental.
