画面解像度 (2012-11-24 15:48 by elcaminoreal #66385)

inspiron8200(ATI Mobility Radeon 9000,Mem 1GB)を使用しています。
linuxBeanをインストールすると、デフォルトモニタの設定で画面解像
度が1024x768に設定されました。設定変更をしたいのですが、他には
800x600と640x480しか選べません。
特にプロプライエタリドライバなどはインストールしていませんが、
別HDDにインストールした標準のubuntu 12.04では、
Unity/Unity2D/Gnome/LXDE
の何れでもUXGA(1600x1200)で認識されました。しかし、それよりも軽
いlinuxBeanを常用したいのですが、画面解像度を変更する方法が分か
りません。
X-windowの機能で変えるのかと思い、色々と調べてみたのですが、まず
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
が存在しません。
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
で作成を試みてみたものの、コマンドは正常に実行されて終了しますが、
何のメッセージも出力されす、
locate xorg.conf.new
で探してもどこにも生成された形跡がありません。そこで
cvt 1600 1200
とし、得られた出力
# 1600x1200 59.87 Hz (CVT 1.92M3) hsync: 74.54 kHz; pclk: 161.00 MHz
Modeline "1600x1200_60.00" 161.00 1600 1712 1880 2160 1200 1203 1207 1245 -hsync +vsync
に対し、
xrandr --newmode "1600x1200_60.00" 161.00 1600 1712 1880 2160 1200 1203 1207 1245 -hsync +vsync
を実行しましたが、
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist)
Major opcode of failed request: 149 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 16 (RRCreateMode)
Serial number of failed request: 19
Current serial number in output stream: 19
となり、続けて
xrandr --addmode default "1600x1200_60.00"
xrandr --output default --mode "1600x1200_60.00"
を実行しても、やはりいずれも
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
となります。
どのようにしたら、UXGAで設定できるのでしょうか。

上記のページを参考にした場合、
ubuntu 12.04 で xorg.conf を作成するには以下のような手順が必要なようです。

1. 再起動してrecovery modeで起動する
2. メニューからnetwork、rootの順に選択する
3. ターミナルで「Xorg -configure」と入力
4. 生成されたファイルを「cp /root/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf」でコピーする
5. Xを立ち上げるか再起動する

ご教授頂いた通りの手順にて、
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
を作成するところまではできました。

しかしながら、上記ファイルを編集し、

として再起動すると、今度はデフォルトで640x480になり、
モニタの設定でもそれしか選べなくなります。

やむを得ず上記ファイルを別名にリネームして再起動しましたが、
元の通り1024x768が上限です。

何か設定若しくは手順が足りないのでしょうか。

初期状態のlinuxBeanにはnVidia用のフリーなドライバーとしてNouveauが導入されていますが、
念のためSynapticから「nvidia-173」「nvidia-173-updates」「nvidia-96」「nvidia-96-updates」を導入してみてください。
（もしかすると「ドライバーの自動検索」からインストールできるかもしれませんが…）

こちらではX周りの問題が起きていないため、細かな検証が非常に困難です。
もし解決方法が発見されましたら、ご一報頂けますと幸いです。

色々とアドバイスありがとうございます。
先程まで、1600x1200が可能になっているubuntu 12.04 で自動導入された
ドライバが何か調査しておりました。

synaptic パッケージマネージャで調べてみたところ、ubuntu 12.04 は、
Nouveauの他に(Nvidia関連の記述があるものとして)
Nvidia-common
Jockey-common
Jcockey-gtk
を自動でインストールしていました。

そこで、先ほどlinuxBeanでも上記を導入してみたのですが、状況は全く
変わりませんでした。

後ほど、上記をアンインストールし、アドバイス頂いた内容を試してみます。
ただ、NvidiaのHPで確認した範囲では、173関係はGeforce 4シリーズ対応では
なさそうです。96はGeforce 2〜7対応との記述がありますが、Synapticで選択
すると!マークが出るので、依存関係が解決できそうにない雰囲気ですので、
ちょっと不安ではありますが。

Nvidia-173 は Geforce5〜9 対応のものでした。
Nvidia-96 は Geforce2〜7 対応のものであるようですのでやってみました。
が、下記のものと依存関係があるようです。
acpid
libc-dev-bin
libc6-dev
linux-libc-dev
これらを先にインストールしないといけないようなのでやってみたのですが、
エラーで導入できませんでした。
ubuntu 12.04はうまくいっているので、そちらで導入されたドライバが何か
正確に調査方法できれば解決できそうな気がするのですが。
もう少し調べてみます。

http://linux-suomi.net/modules/sinyD0/index.php?id=7他を参考にさせていただき、
/etc/X11/xorg.confを以下のように設定しましたが、結果は640x480しか選べなくなり、
画面解像度もそうなりました。
1600x1200表示ができているubuntu 12.04LTSのドライバも再確認し、
Nvidia-common
Jockey-common
Jockey-gtk
も再インストールしましたが、変化はありません。
どうも解せませんが、引き続き調べてみます。

やれる範囲のことはすべて試してみましたが、今のところUXGAにはなりません。
gimp以外は1024x768でも使用するのに支障はないので、しばらくこのまま使い
ながら継続調査します。

意外にも ACPI が外部機器の挙動に影響していたりするので、
一度 acpid をインストールした上で、GRUB のオプションを acpi=force に変更してみてください。
また、ディスプレイマネージャーとして lxdm より優れた lightdm か gdm を導入してみてください。

＞エラーで導入できませんでした。
nvidia-96 が導入できなかったとのことですが、ABI関連のエラーが出ている場合、

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diehard67/xorg-abi-compat-hack
sudo apt-get update
sudo aptitude install xorg-abi-compat-hack nvidia-96 nvidia-settings

とすることでインストール可能になるかもしれません。

お手間を取らせて申し訳ありません。
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diehard67/xorg-abi-compat-hack
に関しては、実行したところで下記となりました。

これはSSL接続に失敗しているということでしょうか。構わず続けて
sudo apt-get update
を実行した後、
sudo aptitude install xorg-abi-compat-hack nvidia-96 nvidia-settings
を行うと、nvidia-settingsまではインストールできましたが、やはり
nvidia-96のインストールには失敗します。
acpidをインストールし、GRUBのオプションをacpi=offからacpi=forceに
変更しました。
nvidiaのドライバが中途半端にインストールされたようなので、ちょっと
不安ですが、このあと再起動して、無事起動できたらディスプレイマネージャ
の変更を試みてみます。

ありがとうございます。1600x1200での起動に成功しました。
やったことは、行った順番に
1 Synapticパッケージマネージャにてacpi及びacpidをインストール
2 Grub CustomizerにてKernel Parametersにlibata.force=noncq acpi=force noapicを指定
3 下記を実行
　sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diehard67/xorg-abi-compat-hack
　pycurl.error: (28, 'SSL connection timeout at 299034')となったが続けて下記実行
4 sudo apt-get update
5 sudo aptitude install xorg-abi-compat-hack nvidia-96 nvidia-settings
6 特にエラーは出力されなかったのでSynapticパッケージマネージャを起動し、
ドライバのインストール状態を確認
7 nvidia-settingsはインストール状態となっているが、nvidia-96は非インストール状態
　であったため、Synapticからインストールを試みたが失敗
8 これで駄目ならディスプレイマネージャを変更しようと思い、この時点で一旦再起動
Grubの選択画面が表示されたところまでは1024x768でしたが、選択後は1600x1200に
なり、そのままデスクトップまで起動しました。
現在下記が選択可能となりました。
1600x1200
1400x1050
1280x1024
1280x960
1152x864
1024x768
800x600
640x480
720x400
640x400
640x350
これで思い通りに使えるようになりました。

「sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diehard67/xorg-abi-compat-hack」は以下のPPAのリポジトリを追加する処理なので、
/etc/apt/sources.listに手動でアドレスを追加し、GPG鍵の追加をコマンドラインから行うことでも可能です。

ところで、
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
を実行しましたが、sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diehard67/xorg-abi-compat-hack
の結果は、残念ながら

に直接上記リポジトリを直接追加しました。
ですが、Synapticでnvidia-96を追加しようとした時のエラーは、
破損したパッケージがあるという旨のエラーでした。
これに関係するものでしょうか。

破損エラーの原因は、「nvidia-96」パッケージが「xorg-video-abi-10」という最初から存在しないパッケージを要求するバグなので、
「xorg-abi-compat-hack」をインストールして強引に黙らせるという汚い手法を用いました。

SSLエラーの原因は分かりませんが、cURLのタイムアウトが出力されているので、サーバーや回線が混雑していただけかもしれません。
（launchpad.netやubuntu.comは回線が貧弱なので、linuxBeanのデフォルトサーバーはJAISTに変更されています。）

なるほど、あれは存在しないパッケージを呼んでいるものだったのですね。
xorg-video-abi-10とコンパチなダミーパッケージxorg-abi-compat-hackで騙したということ
でしょうか。

ただ、nvidia-settingsはsynapticパッケージマネージャでインストール状態を確認できますが、
nvidia-96は、非インストール状態と表示されているので、多分インストールはされていないの
だと思われます。1600x1200で表示できているので問題はないのですが。

それと私はacpidパッケージの前にacpiドライバも導入してしまいましたが、acpiはカーネルに
標準で組み込まれているので、わざわざ導入する必要はなかったのですね。
