更新内容

• 訳修正
  • 原文： The value of the parameter (a astring) allows the debug level (logging level) to be specified in the smb.conf file.
  • 旧訳： このパラメーターの値（整数値）により、smb.conf ファイル中でデバッグレベル（ログレベル）を設定することが可能になる。
  • 新訳： このパラメーターの値（文字型）により、smb.conf ファイル中でデバッグレベル（ログレベル）を設定することが可能になる。
  • "a astring" は "a string" の typo と思われる。旧訳にて「整数値」と訳しているのが解せない。当ファイル冒頭の XML タグ samba:parameter 内に type="string" とあり、文字型である。

• 新規訳（特筆分のみ； 以下同様）
  • 原文： Authentication and authorization audit information is logged under the auth_audit, and if Samba is compiled against the jansson JSON library, a JSON representation is logged under auth_json_audit.
  • 訳： 認証と承認の監査情報は auth_audit のもとにログ出力される。jansson JSON ライブラリを用いて Samba をコンパイルしている場合は、auth_json_audit のもとに JSON 形式でのログ出力が行われる。
  • "under" の意味が捉えきれなかった。「もとに」の訳が適切かどうか。

• 新規訳
  • 原文： Support is comprehensive for all authentication and authorisation of user accounts in the Samba Active Directory Domain Controller, as well as the implicit authentication in password changes.
  • 訳： Samba Active Directory ドメインコントローラー内のユーザーアカウントについての認証と承認は、すべて十分にサポートされている。パスワード変更時のような暗黙的な認証も含まれる。
  • "comprehensive" は悩む単語であるが、「包括的」と訳すのは意義を正確に伝えられないと思い、「十分に」と訳した。
  • "as well as" は「同様に」と訳せばよいところではあるが、意味としては「含む」であり、このような付け足し表現は、なかなか日本語感覚にはないと考えており、「同様に」と訳すと不自然さを感じるため「含む」とした。

• 新規訳
  • 原文： In the file server, NTLM authentication, SMB and RPC authorization is covered.
  • 訳： ファイルサーバーであれば、NTLM 認証、SMB 承認、RPC 承認がサポートされる。
  • "covered" は間違っても「カバーされる」とは訳せず、この一文だけであったら「含まれる」と訳していた。しかし前文にて「含まれる」を結句として用いているため、重複を避け、同様の表現として「サポートされる」と訳した。

に情報がありますが、auth_json_audit を指定すると、Sambaがそれを使えるようにコンパイルされていれば、JSON形式でのログを出す、ということだと思います。なので、意を組んで、以下でどうでしょうか。

認証と承認の監査情報は auth_audit を指定するとログ出力される。jansson JSON ライブラリを用いて Samba をコンパイルしている場合は、auth_json_audit を指定するとJSON 形式でのログ出力が行われる。
