Important information for Scion ISO's
If there are issues booting on real hardware which result in a frozen system before getting to the desktop, you must edit the boot kernel parameters in grub.
To do this, you must hit the letter 'e' when you see the grub menu. Use the arrows on the keyboard to add text after the words "quiet splash".
Change this line so that this line ends with "quiet splash acpi_osi=! acpi_osi='Windows 2009' acpi_backlight=vendor"
If it then boots properly, edit the file /etc/default/grub when booted to add the same text as above. Save the file and run 'sudo update-grub' to make the change permanent.
You may experience issues running the ISO's in Virtualbox (Not a Scion issue). This issue will hopefully be resolved with future Virtualbox and kernel updates.
Suggestion for best compatibility with Virtualbox:
- Disable 3D acceleration in the VM settings. This is found in the "Display" section of the VM settings.
- Disable EFI mode in VM settings. This is found in the "System" section of the VM settings.
- Ensure your Virtualbox is at least version 5.2.8.
