再現状況: SVG1.1 Test Suiteの「types-basicDOM-01-b」において、SIE0.62で閲覧したとき、「document.getElementById(...).firstChild' は Null またはオブジェクトではありません。」というメッセージが出ます。 これは、document.getElementById(hoge).firstChildが本来テキストノードが入っていなければならないのに、入っていないためです。

可能性としては、<text..> </text>のように、空白だけのテキストノードをSIEが作らないためだと推測できます。
