Release Notes for the Lxqt 20.1 release.

I am not trying to reinvent the wheel. My main goal is to polish the desktop environment and application selection.

This spin is based on Manjaro Lxqt. It is a rolling release distrobution and based on the stable branch. The stable branch may not be as bleeding edge as Arch Linux. But it more up to date than a lot of other distrobutions.

Both versions of this release include
1. The 5.4.64 linux kernel which is a LTS kernel.
2. A basic Conky with a Dark Aqua color theme to match the other themes.
4. The new DarkAqua2 kvantum, matching gtk, and icon theme.
5. There is a new grub and matching lightdm theme that matches the desktop wallpaper/theme. Users of older SbK Lxqt installs can use the new themes, search for "sbk 201" without quotes to find the new lightdm and grub theme (dont use the live one).
6. Xarchiver has replaced Ark. This was done because it works better with Lxqt. It isnt perfect, but better.
7. A lot of package updates since the 20.0.3 release. The release is up to date as of 9/30/2020.
8. A new Usplash2 package of wallpapers with 9 new ones, Usplash was getting rather big. In order to keep iso sizes in check new backgrounds will be in Usplash2. Usplash is still avilable in the SbK repo for anyone who wants a wider assortment of wallpapers.

They also contain the standard SbK features.

1. A Manjaro stable install that is also AUR compatible.
2. Multiarch by default to make running wine games and other 32bit software you may run easier.
3. The Spins by Kilz signed repository is enabled for SbK project packages.
4. Timeshift autosnap installed. It takes a snapshot before upgrading so any bad upgrades can be easily reversed.
5. Bloatware has been removed (HP printer software and others).
6. Flat packs and snaps are not installed. The back ends are also not installed but can be installed by the user.
7. The repository points to the new project url of

Full iso

The package selection is pretty much set with libreoffice, Krita and lots of other useful apps.

Minimal iso

********* The minimal iso is not recommended for people who are new to linux. *********

The minimal iso is a bare bones install with few applications, themes or icons. Knowledge of what you want to install is required. That's not to say that a new linux user cant find the information. But a lot of research will need to be done to make the desktop easy to use.
It is meant to be a canvas that allows the user to install the applications they want and nothing more. As such you will likely have to install a lot of applications. The minimal iso only contains the base fonts, icons, and themes. You will have to install others if you want to change the look of the os.

Thank you for trying this spin out,
