bluemarine is a Java application for supporting
the digital photo workflow. It includes tools for
managing, organizing, editing, and publishing
photos. The latest releases also added support for
GeoTagging.

SigBrowser is a GTK+ and OpenGL application that
allows easy browsing of large signals. It can
attach the result of a cluster analysis to the
signal, allowing the user to display the signal at
the firing points of the clusters.

gAnim8 is a suite of tools for building and manipulating animated GIFs and small videos in a GTK/GNOME environment. It allows animated GIFs and videos (MPG, AVI/ASF, WMV, SWF, RM, MOV, or M4V) to be easily created, edited, previewed, recorded, or saved into screenshots.

Kabeja is a Java library for parsing CAD data
(i.e. Autodesk's DXF format) and converting to SVG
(dxf2svg). You can use Kabeja from the command
line or embed it into your application. It
includes a plain DXF2SVGViewer and integration
into the Cocoon XML Web development framework and
the Inkscape SVG editor.

FrogEye is a file manager for Linux and Windows
with built-in support for videos, images, file
encryption, on the fly video and image decrypting,
mobile phone remote controlling, folder
bookmarking, and more.

jbum is an application (Webstart or jar) that takes a directory of images and turns them into a page of HTML. It generates thumbnails and supports rotating, reordering, captioning, spell-checking, and styling.

image-list.php is a drop-in enhancement of Apache's Fancy Indexing
(mod_autoindex) that displays image thumbnails for any GIF, JPEG, and
PNG images (that are under 500KB) in a directory. It lists files
alphabetically, with directories first. It can be set to page listings
if the images exceed a certain number of entries. It was originally
developed to catalog directories of digital camera photos.

Based on the same concept as the original
Xteddy, cteddy is a cuddly teddy bear for your
composited X Windows desktop. Normally, cteddy
just sits around doing nothing. After all, that's
what teddy bears are for. Look at him, talk to
him, place heavy windows on top of him, or zap him
around until he becomes dizzy. Do what you like;
he will always be your true (albeit virtual) friend.

Emergency CD 3 GE is a live Linux CD console
intended mainly for console use. It based on the
Gentoo live CD and includes many filesystems, access
and recovery software, network discovery and
diagnostic tools, and some multimedia utilities.

Moonlight HDR Viewer is a simple image viewer specially designed for viewing high dynamic range images. It employs GPU acceleration for fast and very responsive tone mapping and drawing.

pv2x is a slideshow viewer for the Linux-based
gaming console gp2x. It supports recursive display
of images in random or alphabetical order. It
provides a plugin system for fade over effects.

OpenShowCenter is a free and open source server
for the Pinnacle Showcenter. It features plugin
support, themes, a nice default GUI, a file
browser, and support for all the native ShowCenter
file formats.

These are the demo programs that accompany O'Reilly's "PNG: The Definitive Guide." rpng is a simple file viewer with the ability to set a background color when displaying transparent PNGs. rpng2 is a progressive PNG viewer, designed to work like a web browser (though it contains no network code); it can generate a background image when displaying transparent PNGs. wpng is a simple converter from NetPBM to PNG format; in most respects it is much more limited than pnmtopng, but it supports interactive entry of PNG text annotations and will generate noninterlaced PNGs on the fly (rather than buffering the entire image first like pnmtopng). The viewers include simple front ends for both X and Win32; the converter is a command-line app that compiles on Unix, Windows, and probably other platforms.

Picture Applet displays pictures or slideshows of
pictures on a web page, CD-ROM, etc. As a Java
applet, it is platform independent.
