T.E.A.R. (pronounced Tair) is a console-based frontend for common MP3/OGG creation tools which automates all of the settings involved in ripping and encoding a CD. TEAR uses the CDDB database at freedb.org to name, organize, and add ID3 tags to each encoded file. It can use either cdparanoia or cdda2wav to rip .WAV files from the CD and it can use lame, bladeenc, gogo, or OggEnc to encode them. TEAR also supports SMP.

CD-Command is a primitive commandline CD player/ripper which supports CDDB lookups and can cache CDDB information for offline use. It can rip to .wav natively, or use an external program for encoding to other formats.

BeboCD is a libcdaudio-based CD player with an easy-to-use GUI.

bbJewel creates a PDF of a cover for the listed
MP3 files for the purpose of printing a jewel case
insert. It parses each file and extract the title,
artist, and length of the recording. It also scans
the files for included cover images. You can
provide the CD title and the cover image to use on
the command line.

cdmp3 uses cdparanoia or cdda2wav to extract single tracks or even a whole CD, and converts them on-the-fly into MP3 or Ogg Vorbis files. Using the CDDB database, it is possible to include information like the artist's name or the track's title into the file name or as meta tags in the file content.

BBQ-CDR is a batch burner with queues, a set of Perl scripts
to facilitate burning audio CD-Rs quickly and efficiently with
minimal user interaction. To achieve this, it simultaneously
burns and decompresses audio and allows CDs to be burned
via the Web.

Aurion Music Manager (AMM) has been designed to be a very user-friendly
interface for using mpg123, cdrecord, mkisofs, lame, and other very powerful
command-line music tools. It uses the SDL for its graphics, and the interface
can use the TV output capability featured by several video cards. AMM also
includes a WAV file player, called pwav123.

KFreeDB is an application for interacting with the
FreeDB disc information database. It allows the
user to query the database for a disc in a local
drive, or submit new entries. It communicates with
the FreeDB server via HTTP. It also features
support for inexact/multiple matches, and
resubmission of entries.

Small script that uses Perl::Gtk to make MP3 to
audio CD conversion very easy. Choose mp3-files,
add them to list and press "mp2wav2cd." Script
tries to convert selected files to WAV, and burn
those WAVs to CD-ROM in audio-format.

Paloma is a program to manage an SQL database of digital music files, and facilitate their retrieval and playback in interesting ways. It works with music files of any form -- MP3, Ogg Vorbis, MIDI... whatever you've got a player for. Paloma makes it easy to rip your entire CD collection and store it on your hard disk (or a collection of CD-Rs) for instant random access; playlists can then be generated using arbitrary SQL commands.

Mp3tag is an Objective-Caml library for reading and
writing ID3v1 and v2 tags in MP3 files. It includes
mp3tag tools, which can be used to modify tags in
MP3 files or rename files according to their tags, and
a cddbtag tool that modifies tags by using a CDDB
server to retrieve information about the track.

The One Ripper is a program for ripping and encoding MP3 files from CDs. It has
many advanced features, including background encoding, as well as queuing of
files to be encoded, ID3v1 and ID3v2 tagging, CDDB for track naming, easy
renaming of tracks from CDDB (to make dealing with multi-artist CDs easier),
flexible file naming, a choice of multiple encoders (LAME, Oggenc, BladeEnc,
and Gogo), and a choice of multiple rippers (cdparanoia, cdda2wav, and dagrab).
It includes some MP3 utilites for stripping ID3v1 & ID3v2 tags, retagging files
based upon file name, and creating band & album directories & playlists.

cd-console is a curses-based CD player for Linux/FreeBSD that features one-key access to the first 20 tracks, two key access to tracks 20-40, random or programmed mode, and looping.

dagrab-S is a command-line tool for ripping audio CD into WAV files. It
features fast grabbing with jitter correction, cddb support, and optional
output to stdout.

MyCD-DB is a web based archive for audio CD
collections. It uses PHP, Perl, and MySQL. It
supports CD location for CD changers of up to 255
discs, and has an integrated CDDB interface.
