CRUNCHbox makes crunched binaries (programs made up of many other programs linked together into a single executable). The main reason to crunch programs together is to fit as many programs as possible onto an installation or system recovery disk.

Atlantis is an installer developers can use to install software on users' computers on multiple platforms. It was designed for installing PHP-GTK2 applications as an alternative to PEAR, but will theoretically work for anything.

Sencap is a simple ENCAP software manager. Encapping is a method of installing software from source tarballs into private trees (bin, lib, man, share) and symlinking them to the system tree (e.g. /usr/local). Uninstallation of encapped software is quick, reliable and easy. Encapping is best used to augment the default package manager, not to replace it.

regionset allows you to check and set the region
code of DVD drives. This program was part of the
package "dvd_disc_20000215.tar.gz" from
Convergence, which is no longer distributed
because of the new German copyright law. (The
package also contained some CSS and copying
related tools.) regionset was separated and all
CSS related stuff was removed. This program is
needed by everyone with a new DVD drive that
doesn't have a region code set, since the drive
will only play Video DVDs when the region code has
been set once.

EPOR is an extensible package organiser for
Unix-like systems. It's written to trace
filesystem changes (something being installed) and
save this information in a simple text database
(this, as any other provided feature, is
customisable via the embedded Guile interpreter).
Database entries contain information supplied by
the command line (package name, version, etc.) and
traced by filesystem changes (new directories,
files, etc.). This is achieved using the
"LD_PRELOAD method''.

uClibcLinux is a purely uClibc-based Linux distribution. It serves two purposes: providing a build-system as a starting point for versions of uClibcLinux, and as a repository for software compiling and running with uClibc.

Urpkg is software to install programs in a safe
and undoable way. It is able to see what files any
given installation command creates, and list and
remove them. You are able to restrict the
installation command so that it only writes where
you allow it to, and does not overwrite files from
other packages. Urpkg is especially useful if you
want to install programs from source, or create
binary packages in an automated way. Under the
hood, urpkg creates a user for each package it has
to install, which prevents the installation
command from run with root privileges. It can be
seen as a "command tracer" that remembers what
files a command created and prevents it from doing
forbidden things. It is written in C but relies on
some external commands, like GNU Find.

WDFink? is a GUI wrapper for the Fink project. It provides
several services (news, cross-dependencies check,
documentation file browsing, etc) on top of easy installation
and removal of packages.

ln_local is a simple shell script for managing the
installation of software packages (typically in
/usr/local). It's a program between stow and
lndir/cleanlinks. The approach used by ln_local
(based on Stow) is to install each package into
its own tree, then use symbolic links to make it
appear as though the files are installed in the
common tree.

Lopica is collection of scripts, code snippets, extension installers, FAQs, how-tos, and other goodies for Java Web Start and the Java Network Launching Protocol (JNLP).

List2pkg is a program to create Slackware packages
in a simple way. More precisely, given a list of
files, it will create a Slackware package
containing these files. A user trying to install
that package will see the same files installed at
the same locations they were on your system.

Hamster Font Manager (HFM) helps you control the avaliability of fonts in all of the supported applications from a central place. It includes modules to support X11, Ghostscript, and TeX. A PostScript module handles PS Fonts while other fonts remain untouched by this program. It features a nice Tcl/TK GUI. For X11 configuration to work, this software has to run on the machine's own X Server.

Warsync (Wrapper Around Rsync) is a server replication system mainly
used to sync servers in LVS clusters. It is based on rsync over ssh and
has native support for Debian package synchronization.

Phrealon is a bootable Linux CD based on Slackware Linux 8.0, designed to allow the easy imaging of multiple workstations. It utilizes the updcast set of Linux tools to accomplish this. It provides an interface that allows users to select options from menus and autodetects most of the supported NICs.
