jailed implements a nonprivileged jailroot. It allows an environment to
be specified, does std(in/out/err) redirection, and can restart a failed
child.

InstaSync is file-grained rsync without rsync. This program, meant to be part of a larger
system for maintaining one-way consistency of a distribution, generates a MD5-digested
manifest of what is in a directory and a program (including the manifest) which can be run
on a client machine to create or update the directory and then run an arbitrary shell
instruction.

Ports Tree Explorer is a small tool that allows users to
navigate through a /usr/ports tree, showing information
about a selected port, tree view, software categories (/usr/
ports main directories), and allowing the user to install a
selected
port. It allows users to monitor background installs and to
perform certain operations related to the software ports
tree, with a plain and simple GUI.

GNU Source Installer is a complete source package
management tool that automates configuration,
installation, tracking, and removal of source
packages which follow the GNU coding standards.

Slackselect is a package manager for Slackware
that can install, remove, and upgrade packages. It
can install/upgrade packages from FTP/HTTP and CD
sets. It scans your installed packages, and can
show you the packages that can be upgraded (and do
it for you). It also finds obsolete packages that
aren't in the distribution anymore. It was
inspired by the functionality of dselect.

Sinstall (Source INSTALLer) is a flexible source package installer. It's able to build and install any kind of source, trace make install installations, and create uninstall records. It's also able to correct some configure and make errors, optimize the compilation, check existing installations, download packages, guess configure parameters and Makefile's targets, find dependencies, and create distribution packages.

Build Log is a system for tracking the steps to
compile and install software. It is inspired by
the "Linux From Scratch" book.

toolwrap is a tool for managing package installation that extendes the functionality of Stow or Tinypackage. It makes it possible for different releases of a given application to coexist on a single workstation or be deployed on a file server. Policies files allow end-users to select which package is used when a tool is invoked from the command line.

EDeity is a GTK and Curses frontend to APT.

cfgd is a daemon to maintain configuration files.
It is designed to provide a single interface to
configurations to all sides which are involved.
It provides an API for application developers for
different languages and a program for
administrators and users to alter all configurations.

The Ram Disk Stuff Utility inserts a file into a RAM disk image inside
a boot image.

libpackage is a set of C++ classes for storing and
manipulating software package build, install, and
setup info.

AudioSetup provides an ultra-simplistic interface for Solaris audio
devices. It is designed to be used in the same way as the mixerctl
application provided with Solaris, namely in scripts or when a GUI is
not available.

PyInstallShield is a GTK-based, cross-platform installation and un-installation program. It is known to work on both Linux and Windows.
