the file I/O of progresses to be monitored. It
includes support for gzip-compressed files, so
"progress -z -f file.tar.gz tar xf -" would show
the progress of extracting file.tar.gz.

that can install, remove, and upgrade packages. It
can install/upgrade packages from FTP/HTTP and CD
sets. It scans your installed packages, and can
show you the packages that can be upgraded (and do
it for you). It also finds obsolete packages that
