XPlanner is a Web-based project planning and tracking tool for agile development teams (using XP, Scrum, or another programming style). It is implemented using Java, JSP, Struts, and MySQL (with user-contributed support for other databases).

The Spread Toolkit provides tools for developing reliable and robust distributed applications ranging from collaboration tools to fault-tolerant database servers to replicated Web servers. It consists of a daemon which provides multicast messaging, reliability, ordering, and membership services, and a library which applications link with. Spread provides a simple API for writing group applications and is designed to provide high performance for local and wide area networking applications.

Scala is a modern multi-paradigm programming language designed to express common programming patterns in a concise, elegant, and type-safe way. It smoothly integrates features of object-oriented and functional languages including mixins, algebraic datatypes with pattern matching, genericity, and more. It is well integrated with Java and .NET: the Scala compiler produces standard Java class files or .NET assemblies, and Java/.NET libraries and frameworks can be used without glue code or additional declarations.

GNU Source-highlight produces a document with syntax highlighting when given a source file. It handles many languages, e.g., Java, C/C++, Prolog, Perl, PHP3, Python, Flex, HTML, and other formats, e.g., ChangeLog and log files, as source languages and HTML, XHTML, DocBook, ANSI color escapes, LaTeX, and Texinfo as output formats. Input and output formats can be specified with a regular expression-oriented syntax.

FidoCadJ is a very easy-to-use editor, with a library of electrical symbols and footprints (through hole and SMD). Drawings can be exported in several graphic formats (PDF, EPS, PGF for LaTeX, SVG, PNG, and JPEG). Although very simple and not relying on any netlist concept, FidoCadJ can be considered a basic electronic design automation program. FidoCadJ uses a file format containing only UTF-8 text, which is very compact and suited for copying and pasting with newsgroups and forum messages. This determined its success, as it is quite versatile for simple mechanical drawings as well as for electronics.

OpenGTS (Open Source GPS Tracking System) is a full featured Web-based GPS tracking system for fleets of vehicles. It supports OpenLayers and other map providers, detail/summary reporting, and various GPS tracking devices.

Son of Grid Engine is a highly-scalable and versatile distributed resource manager for scheduling batch or interactive jobs on clusters or desktop farms. It is a community project to continue Sun's Grid Engine. It is competitive against proprietary systems and provides better scheduling features and scalability than other free DRMs like Torque, SLURM, Condor, and Lava.

Ice is a modern alternative to object middleware such as CORBA or COM/DCOM/COM+. It is easy to learn, yet provides a powerful network infrastructure for demanding technical applications. It features an object-oriented specification language, easy to use C++ and Java mappings, a highly efficient protocol (including protocol compression), asynchronous method invocation and dispatch, dynamic transport plug-ins, TCP/IP and UDP/IP support, SSL-based security, a firewall solution, and much more.

DirSync Pro is a powerful, easy-to-configure tool to synchronize the contents of one directory with another. It can compare files by various attributes, such as size or modified-date. It can synchronize an unlimited number of directories, and has a detailed logging function.
