The Tacos library project provides components and ajax behaviour for the Tapestry Java Web application framework. Most of the functionality is based on the dojo Javascript library. The intent is to provide a library of high quality components that may be used in your tapestry application, as well as provide a core infrastructure for using ajax related logic in these and your own components and pages.

Umple can be used for pure UML modeling. Or it can be used to add UML constructs, such as associations and state machines to code written in Java, PHP, or Ruby. It generates code in these languages that can save a large amount of programming effort and result in higher quality. The UmpleOnline tool allows you to edit UML diagrams graphically, and watch the Umple textual code being written in real time. This works the other way too: you can write textual Umple and watch the corresponding UML diagram appear. Umple is being extended to support patterns, tracing, and a variety of other features. Umple is written in itself, which is central to maintaining its quality. Umple can be used today by any programmer or modeler.

Cewolf can be used inside a Servlet/JSP-based Web application to embed complex graphical charts of all kinds (e.g. line, pie, bar chart, plots, etc.) into a Web page. It provides a full-featured tag library to define all properties of the chart (colors, strokes, legend, etc.), thus the JSP which embedds the chart is not polluted with any Java code. Everything is described with XML-compliant tags.

Pounder is a utility for testing Java GUIs. It allows developers to dynamically load components, record scripts, and then use those scripts in JUnit. It supports custom components, drag and drop, and the examination of test runs in source.

JASA is a high-performance auction simulator. It is designed for performing experiments in agent-based computational economics. It implements variants of the double-auction market, which is commonly used to run real-world market places such as stock exchanges. It is designed to be highly extensible so that other types of auctions can easily be implemented. The software also provides a base classes for implementing simple adaptive trading agents.

The LIRE (Lucene Image REtrieval) library provides a simple way to create a Lucene index of image features for content-based image retrieval (CBIR), which allows searching for similar images. The used features are taken from the MPEG-7 standard: ScalableColor, ColorLayout, and EdgeHistogram. Furthermore, methods for searching the index are provided.

Zaval Light-Weight Visual Components Library (LwVCL) is a pure Java alternative to humble AWT-based GUI interfaces for a wide range of platforms, including J2SE, PersonalJava, and others. It can be used on wide range of PersonalJava compatible devices, including Sharp Zaurus, Compaq iPAQ, and top models of mobile phones with the same API, as it is used in J2SE applications.

Impact is a finite element program for simulation
of dynamic events such as car crashes or other
large deformation events. It is kept very simple
to make it intuitive to use and easy to change and
extend. The program includes a NURBS based
pre-processor for modelling, a solver with editor,
a post-processor, and a graph plotter for results
viewing. Impact also interfaces with several other
programs, such as Nastran and Gmsh.

JSesh is an editor for ancient Egyptian
hieroglyphic texts. It can export the text into
picture formats, such as WMF files for easy
inclusion in word processors. JSesh can also be
used as a library for other projects concerning
ancient Egyptian.

NW.ORM is a simple wrapper for accessing databases using hibernate in Java. It makes working with multiple databases easy. Aside from adding dependencies to your project and placing your hibernate configuration files in your classpath, no extra configuration is required. NW.ORM provides base classes for JPA-based class definitions. You can query using your method of choice. NW.ORM supports Criteria, HQL, and raw SQL.

Beem is an XMPP (Jabber) client for Android. Beem is compatible with any standard XMPP server or service (including Ejabberd, Openfire, Facebook, or Gmail). It supports SASL, proxying (Socks4, Socks5, HTTP), DNS SRV, and chatting with a specific resource. Beem is available on the Android market and on the software's own Web site.

jEditor is a simple text editor with syntax highlighting. It is designed to be used as a library in Java applications. The code is based on the jEdit syntax package (http://syntax.jedit.org/), which is provided with an MIT license.
