queXC is a Web-based data cleaning and coding/classification system that takes a data file (such as data collected from a questionnaire) and cleans the text input fields by spacing them and spell checking them. It allows operators to code text fields to existing coding schemes, or to create a coding scheme on the fly. Multiple operators can code and clean simultaneously, with the ability to assign operators to do particular codes. The queXC system includes some coding schemes created from ABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics) data. It can be used as an open source replacement for Nvivo in some situations.

rtfx converts RTF files into a generic XML format. It focuses on keeping metadata such as style names rather than every bit of formatting. This makes it handy for converting RTF documents into a custom XML format (using XSL or an additional processing step). It used to be called 'rtfm', but was changed due to a naming conflict.

Magellan Metasearch is a modular meta search engine, enabling users
to monitor as many search engines as they want. It provides a complex
query language with standard boolean operators, meta-operators (to
search through pages' metadata), and proximity operators. This language
enables users to perform far more complex queries than what common
search engines currently support. It can be fed any custom sources,
since its abstraction layer manages the search results and their meta
tags in a uniform way. In conjunction with the local process scheduler
(such as "cron"), Magellan enables you to save your requests and replay
them later automatically; new results are sent through email and RSS
in realtime. Magellan also provides full anonymity through smart
multi-proxy support.

Sprog is a graphical tool that anyone can use to
build programs by plugging parts together. In
Sprog jargon, the parts are known as 'gears' and
they are assembled to make a 'machine'. Gears are
selected from a palette and dragged onto the Sprog
workbench, where they can be connected together.
Options can be set using a properties dialog on
each gear. When assembly is complete, the machine
can be run, reconfigured, or re-run.

SDoP (Simple DocBook Processor) reads a DocBook XML file, processes it into typeset pages, and outputs the result as PostScript (which can easily be converted to a PDF). It is "simple" because it supports only a subset of DocBook, and also because it does not make use of a DTD or stylesheets or any other heavyweight apparatus. It is a single program. SDoP is used to format the Exim reference manual.

Structured Document Validator implements a generalized method for
validating both the structure and content of structured documents. Any
data format that can be deterministically divided into tags and data
is classed as a structured document. This definition applies to a wide
array of data formats, including XML, Java properties files, and
delimited value files. The application performs validations based on
user-defined Structured Document Definitions (SDDs). It provides an
environment for validation, SDD development, and document editing.
